Transport Through History
Transport has changed more in the last 200 years than in the previous 10,000. The vehicles on this wheel represent a fascinating arc of human ingenuity — from the first wheel carved in Mesopotamia around 3,500 BC to reusable rockets landing themselves back on launchpads today.
The Age of Animals and Muscle Power (Before 1800). For most of human history, transport meant walking, riding animals, or sailing with the wind. The wheel itself was one of the most transformative inventions ever made — first used on potter's wheels, then adapted for carts and chariots. By the time of the Roman Empire, an extensive road network spanned thousands of kilometres, designed specifically to allow armies, goods, and information to move quickly. Sailing ships opened up global trade and exploration from the 15th century onwards, connecting continents that had been entirely isolated from each other for tens of thousands of years.
The Steam Revolution (1800–1900). The invention of the steam engine changed everything. Yes. Each spin uses JavaScript's Math.random() function to determine the wheel's stopping position. The result is unpredictable and unbiased — every vehicle in the active selection has an equal chance of being chosen on each spin, regardless of what came up before (unless No-Repeat Mode is on, which simply removes already-seen vehicles from the pool without weighting the remaining ones).
