Troubleshooting / Common Issues — Random Name Generator
Experiencing issues with the Random Name Generator? Here are the most common problems and how to quickly fix them.
❗ Names are not appearing in the wheel
This happens when the list is empty or contains invisible spaces.
Fixes:
✔ Ensure you added at least one name
✔ Remove extra blank lines
✔ Avoid adding large empty spaces
✔ After adding names, click "Update Wheel" (if applicable)
❗ Wheel not spinning after clicking Spin
The animation may be blocked or the script didn’t load.
Fix:
✔ Refresh the page
✔ Ensure JavaScript is enabled
✔ Disable ad-blockers or script-blockers
✔ Try Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari
❗ Duplicate names showing up
Duplicates appear when you accidentally add names multiple times.
How to fix:
✔ Use the “Remove Duplicates” button (if you added it)
✔ Manually remove repeated lines
✔ Paste names into Notepad first → then paste into the tool
❗ Save File Not Downloading
Save button relies on browser download permission.
Fix:
✔ Allow downloads in your browser
✔ Disable pop-up blockers
✔ Ensure you're not in private/incognito mode
❗ Load File Not Working
This occurs if the file format is not correct.
Make sure:
✔ The file is a .txt file
✔ Each name is on a new line
✔ The file was exported from this tool or has plain text only
❗ Wheel shows only one color / looks broken
This happens with corrupted CSS cache.
Fix:
✔ Hard refresh (Ctrl + F5)
✔ Clear browser cache
✔ Try a different browser
❗ Random results seem repeated or biased
This normally happens when the same name appears multiple times.
Fix:
✔ Remove duplicate names
✔ Ensure equal-weight distribution of names
✔ Check if the wheel has at least 3–5 names for fairness
